I only gave 1 star because I could not give zero stars.

I hired SLC Superior Lawn Care LLC because the president of my HOA was using them. We worked out a price and a description of what was to be done verbally, this was a huge mistake on my part, it should have been in writing. The first visit he came and mowed the front lawn and removed some of the overgrowth around the front of the house but not all of it. Moreover, he stated that for the first visit he would trim the hedges, this was not done. In the back yard which was greatly overgrown, he said he would mow, edge and remove dead underbrush. He mowed and that was all he did, no edging, no removing of dead underbrush and he didn’t even remove the large branches on the ground, he ran over them with his mower.

On the second visit or the 2nd week, I confronted him about this and he became defensive and stated he never said he would do this on the property for the price agreed upon. It started to rain and he left within a few minutes.

The 3rd week he did not return, on the 4th week he did not return and on the 5th week he did not return, now my grass is really overgrown. I paid in advance for a month’s worth of lawn care and got very little in return (this again was a mistake on my part, I should have paid at the end of the month but I thought he could use the money at the start). He did return to the HOA president’s property on the 4th week to mow their lawn but not mine. I have called his cell phone numerous times and left messages, his home phone is not taking messages (the answering machine was full), I stopped by his home on a Sunday afternoon and he either was not in or was not answering the door. I have gone to the Lake County Sheriff and they are investigating.

Yes, I lost $100 which might not seem like much but I am the full time, sole and indigent caregiver of my 88-year-old mother. We are living off of her Social Security and money is tight.
